| Yorkies and cheese My Yorkie loves cheese, but a few people have told me that cheese is not good for dogs. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is cheese going to harm her in any way? I'm new to this site...this is my first post. Thanks! |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I'm no expert, but I've never heard that a moderate amount of cheese can be harmful. I've heard that too much can make them constipated, but I think if you give it to them as a super-special treat it's probably OK.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Mine love it! i can start to unwrap a single and they all come running. I just give each a little piece. I will be watching this to learn more. I never thought of it being harmful.

Yorkie Yakker | I have fed our Daisy cheese since she was little, just a little bit for a special snack when she has to take her flea medication and heartworm medication too. I too will have to keep watching this post to see any side effects of her eating cheese. |

| Small amounts of cheese in moderation are fine but because of its high fat content i only use it as a treat 1-2 times a week.

| I use to give my dogs cheese, but they threw up. They can only eat cheese in moderation. If I give them too much cheese, I have to clean vomit. Some dogs cannot eat foods that contain milk. Foods You Should Not Feed Your Dog Last edited by Lovely05; 11-20-2008 at 08:44 PM. |

| it can constipate them and yorkies are prone to pancreatitis from high fat foods so i would steer clear of any high fat foods with this breed |

| MIne always know when I open a mozzerella bag. When I am using it for cooking (humans) I will give them each 1 pc of shredded cheese. They are on top of the world when I do. Neither one have trouble with cheese--but they don't get very much or very often.
