| Rocky's scooting what does this mean? What does it mean when your dog scoots his behind on the rug? He did this last night first time I saw this, rubbing his behind on rug?? What should I do? |

| Did you check him for dingleberries? If none, he may need his anal glands expressed. |

| A vet or your groomer needs to express his anal glands. It doesn't cost much, usually around $10 at the vet. At the groomer, it should be included with the grooming.

| It depends on the dog, but as a groomer I emptied them each time they came in for grooming. So about every 2 months is probably good. Some don't need it that often. You could always call your vet and see if they have a recommendation.

| Scooting Yorkie Make sure your Yorkie has a lot of dry dog food in his diet. Bowel movements from dry dog food pass with a better consistency than the ones from a diet of moist or canned food. My Yorkie did that once, after eating table food for a couple of days. I put him back on his diet of Blue Buffalo (for small dogs), and the problem cleared up in a day or two. |

make sure your groomer does it from the inside of the rectum, and not the outside....
