| Daisy is refusing to eat her food Daisy is showing some attitude already. I have always had obedient dogs (goldens, pit bulls and found or shelter mutts) and spoiled cats. I knew it would be hard not to spoil a cute little dog like this. But I swear today she said "You're not the boss of me!!" I have only had her for 10 days. In those ten days she has had some biscuit one time and a tiny bit of meat from a Quiz-no's sandwich. That should not have been enough people food to make her abandon dog food. She has been eating what the breeder gave me--Purina Puppy Chow switched over to Iams puppy food. The breeder gave me puppy food for large dogs in a sample packet and it was really big for her. For the last two days she hasn't wanted to eat her food. She would eat a few kibbles if I fed them to her at first (don't spoil the dog, don't spoil the dog...) but now she just looks at me like I had given her a bowl of rocks. She is still very active and has an appetite (she says) for everything I eat, but I don't give it to her. Yesterday I mixed in some canned dog food and she wouldn't eat it. Today I poured some chicken broth on her food and she had a few bites but not much. She does pick and eat logan berries in the yard and will eat a fig if she finds one but no dog food. She has been pooping everyday. How much does a little 3 pound puppy eat at once? A tablespoon? When should I worry? I want to put her on raw food, I can't remember the brand but it comes in little frozen discs and I feed it to my cats. I am out but should be getting more Wednesday. I hope she will eat that more readily, but it still doesn't smell like the people food she really wants. How can I slowly switch her over when she won't eat her kibble? Beth |

| Seems like once they get a taste, even a small amount, of people food they lose their interest in dog food. Sometimes they just skip meals. You need to find something tasty & healthy to mix, in a small amount, with her dog food to stimulate her to eat. With my guys it's cooked chicken breast &/or carrots. I also found that mixing the dried food, in my case Wellness, with a small amount of Wellness canned food, e.g., white fish & sweet potato, works.
