| I switched to raw!!!! I am so excited! I always get so much satisfaction over taking care of my babies to the best of my ability! I purchased a small pack of the 1oz. lamb medallions (they didn't have chicken), and started, er, tried to start, both of my boys on it for their evening meal. Well Ryder WENT NUTS for it! Oh my gosh he LOVES it and now he gets so excited before I feed him dinner that he starts jumping and talking to me! I cut it all up with a little salmon oil and VIOLA! Instant gormet! Unfortunately, Ranger turned his nose up. He wont TOUCH it!! What is up with that? Maybe he doesn't like lamb? I am going to try again when I open up the chicken but I just thought how wierd is that?!? That dog will eat everything, and with vigor! Ultimately, I am super glad I switched. I just got back from the vet who told me to be extremely careful with my dog food right now because there has recently been ANOTHER problem with the melamine (sp?) and that is has contaminated more dog food and killed many, many dogs in China. He believes it is only time before it happens in the US again.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | OH YAY!!! It's so exciting! So glad he is loving it, that's wonderful to hear. As for Ranger, it might just not be his flavor - maybe try the organic chicken (like you said), it tends to be a real favorite since it's so natural, it's very soft and different from the other meats - so maybe that'll be more up his alley. Maybe try it w/out the salmon oil too? So excited for you!

| yay!! I am so happy for you! My girls are on NV raw and they love organic chicken, lamb, and Venison. They don't really care for beef or rabbit. I add ecosaderm(spelling?) which is similar to salmon oil but I think they get more benefit out of it, in the morning. And at night, I add Solid Gold seameal for their coat supplements. I swear, it's like a science project in our house when it's their meal time.

| Congratulations! You've crossed the line into a better way of life for your babies. As for Ranger, he'll come around. Like you and Ann were discussing, you'll get his flavor down soon. You will see a difference in soooo many things, the poo is smaller, and turns to dust after no time. The coat will get shiny and beautiful, and so many more benefits that I can't think of right now. I've got a home cooking project going for my Diva dog, but my boys eat NV raw. They like the Venison right now. It's a bit more of the wild taste I guess, which fits them perfectly. I'm sure they'll wan a change when this bag is gone. Truthfully, you won't regret it! GOOD JOB! PS I do add a little salmon oil to it every now and then too.

Yorkie Talker | Congrats to you!! I am a new mommie to a 8 week old little girl and I want to change her diet from what she was eating (adult food) to possibly organic or the types that you all have been talking about... Any suggestions on what to start with??? Thanxs

Anyway, will you let me know what you think of the seameal? That's seameal, not to be confused with sealmeal

| It comes in bags with little frozen medallions. A full size bag is between $15-$18 dollars, depending on the flavor. You can get a small bag (kind of sample size) for about $5. Those are prices in my area, it might vary.

| Umm, well I purchased a larger bag (48 1oz. medallions) for about $9.00 and got a coupon for a free 16oz bag, which I opened first to make sure someone would eat it! It is Nature's Variety. And yes, I still feed kibble in the AM. I want them to be used to dry food for when we travel, but honestly, I can see myself changing to raw for every feeding. I don't free feed because Ranger is a little piggy, but I do feed morning dry food (Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish) and a lunch-time meal of the same.

| I would certainly be cautious with your decision about food for your new one. There is so much bad stuff in the dog food industry right now. If you started a new thread you will get TONS of advice!!

| The guy at the counter at our local, hollistic-type pet store took out the coupon from a little book behind the counter and told me to go pick out a small bag. I would imagine all the dealers of NV have this promo going on, you should call the store where you get it. I thought it was a great deal!
