Senior Yorkie Talker | It is time for me to schedule Daisy.... I need to schedule a date for Daisy to be spayed. I am sure I am not the only protective mommy, but she only weighs about 3.5 lbs. Has anyone else had a small yorkie spayed and how did she do?

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Both my girls were done around the two and a half pound mark. They did great. Once your baby is healthy your good to go. Just be sure they do the preop blood work.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks everyone. I waited too long to even try to schedule Daisy's spaying b/c she went into heat this weekend. Actually it wasn't my fault b/c my vet told me he wanted to wait until she was a year old b/c of her size, but obviously if all you have had small dogs spayed and they haven't had problems, I think Daisy would have been fine. Now, I have to wait until she comes out of heat, but I am going to go ahead & schedule her to be done.
