| Hip dysplasia My dog was just diagnosised with mild hip dysplasia & a flattening of the hips. He was given a mild anti-inflammatory & directs to limit jumping. Logan is a healthy weight, but a bigger yorkie (15lbs); He's also 3.5 years old. We had an x-ray taken back in January for a tummy issue which showed his hips & we compared it to an x-ray taken today. There was no signs of any hip problems on the January x-ray, but the x-ray today showed a flattening of the hips & slight hip dysplasia. I couldn't see the difference in the actual hip, but I could see the slight flattening. He's obviously been in pain for a while, but only started limping lately because he had muscle atropophy (sp) in the hurt leg. If this truely was hip dysplasia, which I've read is genetic, wouldn't it have shown up on both x-rays instead of popping up sometime between january & now? Could it be injury related? Would chiropractics or acupunture help?
