| Scratching/bumps My yourkie "Tabitha" has little bumps under her chin and around her mouth. I think they might be ingrown hairs because the vets have ruled everything else out except possible allergies. Anyway, she is constatnly scratching at them sometimes so hard it makes her cry. I have been rubbing Cortaid on it and giving her a 1/4 tablet for itching that the vet gave her. Does anyone know of an over the counter cream that is better than Cortaid? Some days it seems to work and other days it doesn't make a difference. Also, do yo think if it's ingrown hairs they can remove them?? There seems to be a couple of black hairs on her neck where she is always scratching and they are the only dark hairs on her neck. Thanks for any help you can give!!! |

| did vet give you temaril p? i would not put any topical around mouth- do you use plastic bowls as that could be causing it as only use glass or metal. What food are you feeding as that could be causing it too as allergies affect the face for food allergy. Get her on Natural balance Fish and sweet potato and see if that helps |

| Sounds like allergies to me. Tucker does the same thing. We changed his food, his bowls and his harness with no luck. We just recently got him tested. He is severely allergic to all types of grasses, weeds and dust/house mites. We had to start giving him allergy shots last week. You may want to consider changing Tabitha's food to see if she may have food allergies. If not, you should consider getting her tested for allergies. It's expensive but worth it if you can improve the quality of her life. Good luck!
