| Learning to bark? My little Teddy is 4 months old and he's been learning to bark but its always very hoarse sounding. I was wondering if this in normal or if there might be a problem with vocal cords or his trachea? I'm worried about the collapsed trachea thing that they seem to be prone to. Thanks guys. |

I have 2 yorkie girls. they both have different sounding barks. I believe with a collapsed trachea there is a honking noise. I wouldn't worry about the sound of his bark.

Thank you so much, my husband and I have been worried about that. I guess we expected something more high pitched for such a little dog! | |

My furkids Donating Member | Your welcome! and if you are still worried about it I would mention it to your vet the next time you bring him in.

| Ahhhhh, be careful what you wish for . Bella was a quiet little thing, didn't bark at all. A few little growls and "woof"s when the doorbell rang, but that was it. Then one day my daughter's BF was tossing the ball for her; he got tired before SHE did ( ), and she began to BARK to get his attention. And a shrill little ear-piercing bark it IS . Now she doesn't stop. Whenever she wants something, she politely sits at your feet, tilts her head, looks as cute as she can, and BARKS. I long for the silent days .... |

| Bella will be a year old on Friday ... I'm afraid I may be stuck with her noisy ways . She is the smallest of them all - but makes up for it in shrill bark. |
