| when to stop tick/flea med? I use advantix K9 for Duke since May. I recently found bite marks on him and the vet doesn't know what bite him, and we didn't find any ticks or flea on him. So I have no idea if I should stay on it? Also, until what month are we supposed to have them on the prevention? All year round? This is Duke and mine first fall together.

| I was hoping to be done with it, but found a flea on Otis tonite. So I zoomed over to petsmart for the advantix! I guess one more time. I hate to say it, but I hope we get a good freeze soon. The mosquito's are so bad here, and obviously fleas too.

| I'm ready for a good freeze soon too. Fleas are so icky and so are misquito's! I can't be outside for more than 5 minutes in the afternoon without having a million misquito bites!

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | If you're not happy with Advantix, I'd recommend Fronline Plus or Frontline Spray. Frontline is an excellent product...I had a bad experience with Advantage (Advantix is made by the same company) not working on my cats for fleas even! Also, Frontline Spray is only $26-$35 per small bottle, and that would last you for over a year (maybe closer to 2) treating once a month. That's what I use because it's a lot more cost effective--it wouldn't be for a LARGE dog because it's # of sprays per # of lbs. My dad lives in the country and just started using it too (he has a boston/rat terrier mix that weighs 18 lbs.) |

| It would depend on where in the country you live I would guess. We live in NY and Oct is the last month I use Frontline Plus until next April giving Buddy's body a break. I have never seen a tick or flea on him during those months. It's starting to get cold here now however we can always get an Indian Summer, which I'm hoping for So between Nov-April we stop. Hopes that helps you. |

| Yes that helps a lot. I wasn't sure if I would need to use it during the fall/winter months. Thanks,
