| Science Diet? I've been reading on here that Pedigree is bad but I haven't read anything about Science Diet. Is that OK or should feed her something else? She is 3 months and weighs 1lb and 8oz. (She is the runt of the litter so I expected her to be small) Thanks, Jeanette Chirino

| Ok thank you. I just recently bought a bag of it so I may use that till it's done and then switch her little by little. Thank you.

| It's definately not the best food on the market, but not the worst either. Try the sticky at the top of the page for a list of the more recommended brands. (YT recommended anyways.) Some of the companies will send you coupons or samples if you contact them. Definately do as you are planning and swap your little one over gradually though. |

| Science Diet isn't a very good food. They don't use good protien sources and it contains fillers which are not good. The foods that were recommended are great! |

| Science Diet I adopted my little baby yorkie/maltese a month ago (she was 3mo and 1.5lbs). Because our vet recommended Science Diet, that's what I fed her. Her stools were always loose, sometimes bloody and she went poop 5 or 6 times a day. After finding YT, I switched her to Wellness and have noticed a BIG difference. She loves it and has firm poop and only goes 2 times a day. Both Sadie Belle and I are so happy with the switch |

| Thank you. I will def. change her food as soon as I am done with the bag I bought. I'm sure it'll be a few months. I just hate to throw out a new bag of food.

| Welcome to YT!! Whatever you decide to feed, just read the ingredients. You want to make sure that there is no corn, no wheat or soy and especially NO BY-PRODUCTS!! Science diet is full of corn and can cause serious allergies. It is a cheap filler with not nutritional value. The wheat and soy are not good for our furbabies and the by-products are the parts of animals that are not fit for consumption...this can include feet, beaks, feathers from chickens and meat by-products can be from decayed and diseased animals even euthanized diseased dogs and cats collected from vet offices. There are lots of great foods out there...just read the ingredients carefully. When you change to a new food, you will also want to transition very slowly to allow her tummy to adjust to a new food. |

| I would donate the bag to your local shelter and look for a better food

Yorkie Yakker | I also just switched to Wellness Core, my little guy seems to love it. I was mixing it the first couple days and he was taking out all the Wellness and hiding them all over the house like it was a treat. I was also going to suggest donating the food to the Humane Society or shelter and get the new food asap. |
