Corn is a cheap filler and also is one of the top three allergy causing ingredients in dog foods. (The other two are wheat and soy). The food you are feeding your puppy is probably not a very high quality.

Pedigree is pretty terrible food. The pet food sold in grocery stores is made from the waste of the human food industry, the "not fit for human consumption" leftovers after processing. Get The Facts This thread is pinned in this section. It's a great resource for finding a high quality food to feed your puppy. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html

Do you live near a good pet food store or feed store? Usually that's where you'll find the best quality dog foods. Some examples of better kibbles are Natures Variety Instinct, Orijen (my favorite), Wellness Core.

I feed Orijen I am a hypocondriac when it comes to my dogs. Both of them now has good bowel movements, shiny, healthier coats and my picky shihtzu eats - everyday, and she cleans her bowl too. Enough said. As far as I'm concerned, if I ever meet the man/woman behind Orijen, I may just kiss their feet.
