| I was told by my vet that structurally they might stop growing by 6 - 7 months, but they continue to fill out and gain a little more weight thru a year old. But this will differ from yorkie to yorkie. |

| I raise Yorkies and Maltese. A Yorkie is just about as big as he/she will get as an adult, by the age of 6 months. I usually weigh a pup at 12 wks and double it to get the adult weight. That is usually pretty accurate. Diet is important. Kibble (a premium dry food) is best so wet food doesn't accumulate in the teeth. Also Yorkies are subject to having too many teeth (baby teeth do not fall out and permanent ones come through beside the baby teeth). Chew toys are really important to help the tiny baby teeth come out.If the baby teeth don't fall out, a vet should be consulted for extraction when the dog is older. They grow so fast, so enjoy that baby! |

| Generally, yorkies stop growing at around 7 months but be careful because they can still get fat!!! A good guide is take the weight at 12 weeks and double it and that is your ballpark on adult weight. |

| Gus stoped growing at about 9 months. But since he turned a year he has filled out and gained few oz's. Which is a very good thing being that he was only 2.5 lbs at 12 months,, He is now 2.9 at 16 months. It may not seem like all that much but when they are tiny you an trully tell the difference when the gain or lose even a ounce.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Apricotkid hasn't posted since 08-23-2008. Your little guy will probably not gain more than a pound.

| I hope my Tinkerbell does the same as your Missy. She weighed 3 lbs at 16 weeks and I am hoping that she makes it to 5 before she stops. She could use a little more size to back up her big personality....LOL... |
