| question on food allergies I have had my 13 week old yorkie Mylie on NV prarie(sp) beef and barley medely for about three weeks and she has been doing good on it or so I thought well two days ago she passed a very small amt of bloody mucus with her bowel movement and then did it again yesterday and she would not eat her kibble but I put down some NV instinct rabbit formula and she almost had it eaten before it was all the way down on the floor and then begged for more and that is all she had today and there has been no more blood in her poo. Well all of this has been for my one question. Can food allergies cause blood in there poo? Thanks Tess |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | At this age, no, I don't think it's food allergies. It sounds like she got into something. Are you quite sure she is back to healthy poo? If so, you're lucky. But, I'd keep a very, very watchful eye to be sure that whatever this was is truly over - bc if it shows up again, I'd get her in ASAP. Put her poo in a plastic baggy (if it happens again) so they can do a fecal test.

| Thanks for the reply it has been three days and there has not been any trace of blood since then it is qiute possible that she got into something she picks up more than my vacume (ha ha ) I am going to start her back on her kibble again and see what happens. Thanks Wylie's mom I am glad you are here I really want to feed her what is best for her so if you have any suggestions please feel free to share and suggest. Mylie is my first Yorkie and First small dog. Tess |
