| Food change cause for throwing up yellow liquid? My 6.5 month old has not been eating much the last 3 days. I have her on Wellness dry puppy food, which she has eaten every day. I thought she seemed to be having teething pain so I softened her dry food with warm water and she was eating that. For the last 3 days she has not been interested in any food, including peanut butter, which I thought was her all time favorite. So I gave her some puppy canned food I had from before I even got her. SHe ate it yesterday and the day before, but today she doesn't want anything. I have also tried given her plain yogurt for 3 days, which she also refused (previously her fave too). Today she has thrown up 3 times. Each time it has been yellow liquid. She seems to be sleeping more too. She just had extensive blood work done this week and all was fine. Her white blood cell count was in the high normal range of 4272 per cc so the vet sent her bloodwork to the lab, but it came back okay. Any suggestions welcome!

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Not eating is generally the reason for throwing up bile. Make sure she eats. My Ramsey will throw up bile if her stomach's empty.

| She won't eat anything I give her except Liver treats. I got her to eat about 4 of those. I don't know what else to try. Do you suggest finding some new food that might interest her?

| It may not be the healthiest thing but when our babies were teething and would not eat I bough some cheap soft food at the grocery store and they would eat that. If they normally do not get canned food a lot of times they will eat that also because they think it is a treat. When they are not feeling well I would rather have them eat some lower quality food than not eat at all. Make sure you watch her close so she does not get dehydrated or hypoglocemic.

| I just offered her some slightly warmed canned food that she ate for the first time 2 days ago. She has refused it. She keeps checking all of her bowls as if she is hungry, but then doesn't eat anything. I have dry kibble, softened kibble, warm canned food and a bowl of biscuits with some peanut butter on them. It looks like a smorgasbord down there, lol. She just ate maybe 2 bites of the canned as I am typing this, but now appears to be finished. I will go get some new canned food as you suggested. Do you think I should give her some Pepto Bismol liquid? That's what the breeder told me to give her when she has an upset tummy.

| She is not eating because she's not feeling well. Some thing else may be causing this, besides teething. I would take her back to the vet, because of the concern of dehydration, and weakness .

| Yay! She's eating! She just ate the canned puppy food and drank water afterwards. She ate a normal portion, too. What a relief. She has a vet appointment tomorrow. I will ask about the eating. I have sent hubby to get Wellness canned puppy food too. Thanks everyone!

| They are correct! Regular meals are important but remember their bile duct is much, MUCH shorter than ours and they, at times can get an acid reflux. Most of the time it is due to an empty stomach and they vomit a yellow mucousy fluid. Really, it's normal. Hope that helps!
