Weaning pup off Tylan! Hi to All
I am very, very interested to hear from anyone who has had to put their little ones (or big ones, for that matter) on Tylan for digestive orders, including IBD and SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) AND WHO HAVE SUCCESSFULLY GOTTEN THEIR DOG OFF THIS ANTIBIOTIC!!! Over and over I hear it it impossible to get a dog off Tylan but I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. Goodness, there has to be a way to get a dog or human off antibiotics successfully--with enough health savvy, guidance and time.
I have contacted a wonderful woman who says she will guide me through this by using natural and organic supplements but still I am nervous and she is very busy these days, so I thought I would send this query here to see if anyone has any ideas. Henry's Diarrhea has been non-existent since he has been on the Tylan (of course) and it's a well known fact that Antibiotics are just band-aids and do not cure; the vet and everyone else has told me that as soon I stop the Tylan the diarrhea will return with a vengeance--nice <arrrgh>. I know this big time but had to bite the bullet with Henry because he was getting just too sick because of unstoppable diarrhea several times a day. Now, he is MUCH STRONGER (yes, the Tylan and metamucil helped but these are going to take their toll down the road)and I would love to stop poisoning his liver and kidneys by continually giving him this drug. Naturally the VETS (medical model of course) I have spoken to have raved about the safety of Tylan and what a LOW LEVEL antibiotic it is and how safe it is to use Long Term. I know just enough to KNOW that in the long run this IS NOT TRUE and will take it's toll on his major organs. I want him off Tylan eventually and don't care how long it takes.
HAS ANYONE BEEN SUCCESSFUL GETTING THEIR DOG OFF THIS STUFF? And if so, HOW DID YOU DO IT? Please let me know. Thanks a lot!!! YorkieSue |
