| olive oil to loosen stools? lily may's stools are very firm. when she poops she runs like she is trying to run away from her butt. so i am constantly finding little presents on the floor. she is great about going on the paper, but she doesn't end up finishing on it. yesterday i gave her a 1/8 teaspoon of olive oil, her stools were a little softer and it was all in the litter box. this morning her stools were still softer and in the box. my question is will olive oil every day hurt her? i have read on here that pumpkin will soften stools, how much do i give her each day? i am afraid the pumpkin will spoil before she eats the whole can. i thought of putting it in a pastry bag and making little dollaps, freezing them on tray, then putting in plastic bag. heck, i don't know what to do for her, i just want her to not be afraid to poop. lily may is 10 months old and i think she weighs around 4 1/2 to 5 lbs. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I guess before I would consider supplementing with fiber every single day, I'd first consider the overall diet . What are you feeding her?

If it comes down to you having to use something, I would not use oil too often. Besides putting extra weight on her, that much fat could irritate her pancreas.
