Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | New Vaccine - 3-in-1 3yr Combo Marci (Marcerella02) found this vet's blog a few weeks back and I'm just LOVING it. Anyway, this vet is just wonderful in terms of vaccines. She mentioned using a 3-in-1 vaccine only, which I could not source anywhere - so I emailed her and Dr. Terifaj replied with this: "Intervet makes Continuum DAP which is being marketed as the only 3 year USDA approved vaccine. It is pricey compared to the vaccines most vets are using. However, we know that the old standby vaccines (vaccine titers have proved this) can also provide a long duration of immunity---3 years or longer! So, in my opinion the only reason to pay more for this vaccine is if you are determined to use a 3 in 1 combo." Here is her wonderful blog, which I subscribe to - and you can get her great newsletters too: DOG-Breath So, in thinking through this 3-in-1, I think the only real application here is if you want to avoid the DA2PP because you think the parainfluenza vax is unnecessary (which some are saying). Otherwise, we should get the same longevity from the old vaccines (and less cost). Is that your impression as well?

| Yes, that is what I am getting out of it. I'm torn for Ellie because she is sooo sensitive. I think we will have to break up all vaccines into singles or stop giving them altogether. In a healthy dog who I wanted to give only core, I think this is a good product (so far).

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Aw, wow. So, does she have a tough time even with the DA2PP?

| So glad you are loving the blog. I also get her newsletters which i love. I too cannot give Layla a 3-in-1... she has a hard time dealing with one vaccine at a time.. although i think it's time to talk to my vet about.... NO MORE VACCINES *wish me luck!* |

I just think with 3 or 4 at once it could easily bring out one of her "reactions".
