YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Good Quality Food at Petsmart?? I just posted this into the sticky above also, but figured I'd start my own thread just incase no one saw it.... I am going crazy here! I am trying to get my yorkies on a better food. Right now I am feeding them Nutro Natural Choice (which is a 2 star rating) and I want them to have at least a 5 star rating (out of 6). Anyway, I started contacting some of these companies listed in the first post for some samples, and then noticed that Petsmart does not carry any of these brands! WHY? Petsmart is the only pet store around my area, and I can't even imagine what the shipping would be on a 40 lb bag of dogfood if I ordered online - so Petsmart is really my only option. So, who knows of a good, healthy dogfood sold at Petsmart???

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I know how much this is a pain. Is there ANY Petco near you at all? Because they now carry Wellness....

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This is a major "pet peeve" of mine because I believe a good pet food should be easy to obtain, and even available at grocery stores because that's where most people buy their pet food.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Just looked again at Petsmart website. Blue Buffalo Wildnerness is nice - but you'd want to call and see if they actually carried it in the store (I believe it's limited).

| There is an Organic dog Food that Petsmart carries. It is pretty decent. See if you think it is acceptable. By Nature. It has puppy dry foods, canned foods, and Adult Kibble.

| Depends on which PetSmart you go to...the one near me has Wellness and Blue Buffalo and a few of the other more preferred brands. They told me that they tailor what they carry in the individual stores based on the demand and that if they get enough requests, then they will try to add it to their stock. So be sure to ask! Also, in regards to wanting a '5 star rated food,' please be aware that the site that has rated this foods (dogfoodanalysis.com) is written based entirely on the opinion of the site editor(s) and NOT on long term, professional results and research. It's just one opinion so don't put too much stock in it. It's a great source of information, but your decision on what is best for your little one shouldn't come from what you read on that site alone. Another good site to try is: Dog Food Review Ratings It will link you to numerous sites that examine supplements, home cooking, raw feeding and commercial brands. |

| We feed Nature's Recipe. Someone a long time ago posted a thread on dog food grading and the formula we feed scored a 100%. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...teresting.html

| If there is a particular brand or brands that you are interested in . . . go to the individual brand website and there is usually a "store locator" button to click on. Sometimes you will find that dog food is sold at other places other than pet stores. For instance , I get mine at a local feed mill. I would have never even thought to look there and I found out by clicking on the store locator button. And , they carry several different kinds. My two love their healthy food and I save a lot on shipping. |
