Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | Heartworm meds? Which brand do you use that works best for you in quality and price? I am torn between brands and would like some valuable opinions. Thanks

| My vet told me that theres a new liquid form of heartworm medication..its put on the back of the neck...like you would for flea and tick med. Apparently its made for small dogs. Pasquale is going back to the vets on sept 3rd for a checkup so he may be getting it then. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I use Revolution which is applied to the back of their neck and it is for heartworm and flea and tick.

| I was using Interceptor, then Heartgard and now Interceptor again. I think I like Interceptor best. Interceptor, Heartgard and Sentinel are the only only I would even consider personally right now. I don't like Revolution (might have a higher death rate than the others and the heartworm protection is questionable) and Advantage Multi is too new. ProHeart6 is way too risky in my opinion.

| I've always used Interceptor. My old vet always gave it to us because he said its better for smaller breeds. I don't use that same vet anymore but continued to use Interceptor instead. My vet now doesn't carry it so I order mine online. |

Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | i was thinking about using Interceptor...price seems great! and i have 6 dogs and it can get pretty expensive... Interceptor - 1800PetMeds.com has a 12 pk of interceptor for $44.99. I guess my question is can you split it up between the 6 of would i have to buy 6 different packages (one for each of my dog) up front?

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | I guess I should have added that Frontline (and some others I don't know much about--from what I've read, most people seem to think Frontline is the best), kills all life stages of the flea. AND it doesn't have to bite the dog for them to die, just to come in contact with the treated dog. |

| I have had all my dogs (past and present) on monthly "Interceptor" flavor tabs. When I started going to this new Vet and told him that's what I use -- he told me it's one of the best. |
