| HELP!! Sugar might be pregnant Ok here it is.. Sugar just under a year old under 4lbs. I think Spice had his way with her.. Well I know he did they get stuck together 4 times. We had to help them get apart.Spice's Boy hood was BLUE but he recovered quickly (like all men)... Spice is about the same age and he is about 2.5 to 3 lbs. Sugar is now very lovable and wants to be held all the time her teets are getting big. Does any one know if a over the counter pregnancy test will work for Sugar? I was able to nurse Cupcake AKA:baby back to health (a BAD VET was going to let her die) I used over the counter children medication. Vicks, Vapor rub- Any help welcome Thanks, Angela |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | no an over the counter pregnancy test will not work. how long ago did spice get to her and on the 4 times how many days are involved. i have been breeding a long time and under a year is VERY young for a yorkie. she may need a c section since she is so little. a yorkie under 5 lbs is a lot of trouble whelping and surving afterwards. good luck and watch her closely from 57-63 days. dont leave her alone during those days. |

Neve ever pull two dogs apart no wonder your males parts are blue you must have bruised him hurt him when you pulled them apart. a male swells in a female you have to wait until that goes down for them to seperate. by pulling them apart you can hurt damage your females inside and break your males privates. never do that. I hear so many people saying they pulled their dogs apart how sad. Do you know how painful that must be? Last edited by YorkieShadow; 08-22-2008 at 09:20 PM.

| I hope everything goes well. There are a lot of nice breeders, in this forum who will be able to help you. If it makes you feel any better, My mother in law had the same problem once. She didn't even know till the puppies were born (no signs of pregnancy) good luck. |

| Angela, what is done, is done. Now you need to find yourself a GOOD vet and have him examine her. Get the vet to help you decide what is best for your little girl at this time. You will probably need help, and maybe a c-section, when the puppies are born. This is nothing to fool around about, you could lose your little mom in a tragic and painful way. There are people here who have lots of good information that could help you through this. Don't be afraid to post and ask questions. But first, get a good vet on board to help you. Best wishes.

| No JOke , Thanks for your help... Why do people jump in when You are really want help. We have had a hard time with Vets in the area. You would think after $5,000.00 worth of health care they would be able to give your dog lasix to help them breath. Long story and still NO JOKE Sorry we work, Yes 4 times not wanting to keep them in a cage all the time. We were cooking diner and talking with the kids. We were right there. I did not say it was an accident, nor did I say that I Pulled them apart. To the People that posted nice, helpful post.. THANK YOU |

I apologize, but I too mistakenly thought this was a joke...I couldn't fathom why anyone would purposely breed their 4 pound puppy. There is alot I could "advise" and probably alot that SHOULD be said, but my short and sweet advice would be to have your girl spayed and terminate the pregnancy--truth be told it would probably be the option that is in HER best interest.

You need to take her to your vet asap. Spaying her may be your only option.

| I would have her spayed now it would be the safest for her and the cheapest for you. If not start saving all your paychecks for the vet bills. (Csection etc.) And read all you can about handraising puppies in case you loose your girl at birth. Best of luck Deana Prestigeous |

| Honestly, I think it's all pretty terrible but the part that had me scratching my head & wondering if this was just another someone posting something as a joke to get us all upset about was the "over the counter medicine & vicks vapor rub"- I maybe totally wrong but I wouldn't think those remedies would be good for a pet???
