Ok, so I let a half a medallion thaw this morning, then sprinkled 1/2 a capsule and mixed it in, and then I put it back in the freezer for the PM feeding. TJ can not eat the thawed out medallions as they are too mushy and he has a hard time with it at that consistency, it gets stuck on the roof of his mouth and then he has meat patties slipping into his face hair - yuck

Roxy get home cooked meals, so I will have no problem putting it into her PM meals.

I am going to do the 1/2 capsule daily for the 6 weeks, and then decide if I will continue every day or every other day.

Aw, shoot, what a process! What about a treat, right after the meal? Like, mix the contents of the half-cap with just a bit of peanut butter? Would that be okay for him?

we are interested in cosequin, as well! we were going to get this.. then i ended up picking some of the liquid health at our feed store! if it doesn't work-we will be ordering the cosequin! would love to hear more feedback!
I'm not familiar with K9 Health. You have to watch some of the "off" brands because they often don't contain enough glucosamine to be beneficial. Dogs under 10 lbs. need 300 mg of glucosamine everyday.

I used Glycoflex for years until they came out with all the new formulas and so many were double strength and not appropriate for small dogs. I switched to Cosequin about six months ago and can really see the difference in Lady's arthritis. She had to take steroids for flare ups and Tramadol on a regular basis, but she has been doing great on Cosequin alone.

We've been giving Punkin 1 capsule daily of Cosequin for about 3.5 weeks now. She has had no tummy upset at all -knock on wood

Punkin doesn't seem to mind the taste at all. We just sprinkle it on her food and mix it in a little. Sometimes I give it in a teaspoon of yogurt or cottage cheese.
She is so good with pills that I bet she would swallow the capsule whole if I rubbed peanut butter on it.

Are there any studies about long term effects of using it? It is working for Punkin although her leg is still not 'all' better we see a HUGE difference. I suspect she will be on it long term.

I don't have copies of studies on it but it does have unparalleled safety (Nutramax says) and it is even possible to double dose (talk to vet first) long term.

yeah i know.. i was planning on trying cosqequin! but someone reccommended this.. (& said because it was liquid form it was better.. kinda like how dog food loses alot of things once it has been made into kibble form?) anyway.. i did a little research and have heard good reviews.. i will probably end up ordering the cosequin anyway.. especially since i KNOW it works! THANKS so much for your input! xo.
