| Weening Yorkie off Junk Food Hello Everyone, I recently acquired a Yorkie Russell named Teddy. The previous owners fed it on a diet of burgers and chips (French Fries). Obviously, I do not want to keep up that unhealthy diet, but I'm having problems transitioning him to a normal puppy diet. Any tips? Cheers, Angela |

| Why not just stop the unhealthy food. If he won't eat dry at least a good canned diet could be substituted until you can slowly add kibble and change him over to it. You could even cook some chicken and mix it with ground kibble and fat free broth then slowly ad more and more kibble and less and less chicken |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hello Angela, I feed my Yorkie and 2 German Shepherds dry kibble and I also add green beans. The beans are used as a filler and they add no calories. I also sprinkle a little garlic powder. I swear it works for the fleas. I haven't had fleas for a couple of years now. They gobble up their food. Don't have a problem with eating. I have to omit that I do feed the wonderful mcdonalds fries once in a while to them. I know it is not a good thing, but what would you eat??? Mcdonalds or kibble??? lol...lol.... Good Luck!!!
