| Mixed Opinions on Eukanuba ... What is with all the mixed opinions on this brand of food? I had heard that the Eukanuba Yorkshire Terrier food was a good product so I bought it tonight, and my Bailey really loved it and gobbled it down. But then I researched it on this site and there are so many differences in opinion...that it's good, that it's crap, low quality, etc. I am hoping this is not true considering I just paid nearly $30.00 for one bag!

| When you're looking at dog foods, you have to compare ingredients. In that respect, Eukanuba is a poor quality food. The three big things to watch out for in any brand are meat by-products, corn and wheat. Eukanuba Yorkshire Terrier formula uses 3 grains, with one of them being corn . It also uses chicken by-product meal, another poor quality ingredient. They also use beet pulp, a low grade filler. A good site to compare brands is dogfoodanalysis.com. Based on ingredients, there are many better brands available. |

| Yes, opinions on the food are very mixed. Some hate it, some swear by it, some don't buy it because they don't support the company itself. (They were in the midst of a sticky situation a few years back regarding animal testing by an outside company they'd hired.) It's by no means the 'best' food out there by standards of most on YT, but it may be a good option for YOUR individual dogs needs. I would suggest you try any food that you think might be a good match and examine the results you see. Also, there is a sticky at the top of the section with some of the more recommended brands of commercial food. (YT recommended anyway.) Some companies will send you free samples to try if you contact them. Good luck. |

Chicken Soup For The Puppy Lovers Soul. A large bag was $9.99, and if you go to that website on dog food comparison, it is rated 4 stars. I've used Eukanuba, Iams, Royal Canine, and now the Chicken Soup brand. So far so good, my baby loves it And you can't beat the price

Funny story, when it was first recommended to me, it was by word of mouth, but the person didn't ever actually tell me it was dog food. I thought it was one of those Chicken Soup for the Soul books, only with stories about dogs. I can't tell you how many book stores I'd drop by and ask if they had it. They always looked at me like I was nuts! (Little did they know, I WAS!)

| Well, I thought that too when my groomer was recommending it to me. I thought, hmmm, I've never seen that stuff, and when he came out of the back with a big bag of it, I felt silly. I really thought he meant some sort of book too...LOL....two crazies thinking alike |
