| Hartz is not recommended at all, especially their flea products/shampoos... Regular dawn dish soap will kill the fleas. A little goes a long way, but if she has fleas, she probably brought them into your house so you will need to treat your house. Otherwise, you will only kill the ones on her, but more will jump on... You can buy borax and sprinkle it all over your carpets, leave it for a few hours, then vacuum it up really well. Of course, do NOT let your yorkie be there while the borax is down on the floor.

| There are several things to try. If she is really infested, you may want to get capstar from the vet. It will kill all the fleas on her but not if they are in the house. Some have used Dawn dishsoap but i have never tried that. I have a freind in rescue and they use plain old ivory soap (the bar) and wash with that and it will kill all the fleas on her. It is mild too and doesn't irritate the skin. Good luck!! I hope you can get rid of those bloodsuckers! YUCK!! You may need to try something like Frontline. We use the REvolution from the vet since it has the flea and the heartworm treatment in one doesage based on the weight of the dog. Some flea treatments are too strong for the little furbabies! |
