| How to brush their teeth with Petzlife gel?? I bought some Petzlife gel from YT vendor AMD and Carson and Bailey HATEEE it. I can get some in their mouths usually but they will NOT let me use a brush. They run away when they see the bottle. How in the world do you guys do it??? I think the Petzlife spray would scare them too bad. Blah... help!

| I started out just putting it on my finger and rubbing gently their gums. After a while I got a brush (plastic) that fits over my finger. Now all three actually like having their teeth brushed. It helps that the oldest one loves it and the other two think they have to have whatever she gets. |

| I lay Meeko on his side in my lap. Squirt a little bit of the gel on the top side of my hand - so it's easy to get more and you don't double dip into the bottle-, grab a q-tip and pull his lip up. I just gentely rub it on the outside of his teeth say I kept telling him to stay and he's a good boy. He absolutely hate when I open his mouth but, this way I'm really not, just opening his lips. He hates the toothbrush too. I try to only brush his teeth once a week and your petzlife once a day everyday. I stopped for 2 weeks because I had my college finals and then I was moving and then went to NJ to visit my family and on the outside of his back molar plaque started to form and his breath is a little stinky. So no matter how hard they fight at first, stick with it!! Eventually they'll realize you're not trying to hurt them lol and get use to it.

| My Mocha hated Petzlife, and it actually made him sneeze a lot. I bought a Petrodex peanut flavoured toothpaste and he loves it. The only problem is, I can't get a toothbrush anywhere near him I just bought some Petrodex cleaning gloves (with bristles), so hopefully I'll have more success with that.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Don't brush with the gel, use a dog toothpaste for this. Joey has a "poultry flavored" toothpaste, and he doesn't mind getting his teeth brushed. The gel or spay is more like a tartar control mouthwash that coats teeth with a substance that is said to soften tartar and helps prevents it's formation. Then you brush tartar away with a dog toothpaste, don't use human toothpaste the artificial sugar could harm your pet. Brushing is an important part of this because it stimulates the gums where most of the problems start.

| I use a kid toothbrush but you can use gauze or a q-tip.

| I can only "brush" his teeth by putting a dab of toothpaste on my finger then rub his teeth and gums with my finger... he used to wiggle and squirm away at first (and I'd have to hold him still with my legs and arms) but he doesn't put up as much of a fight as before... I think he's slowly getting used to the routine. I do it every day with my finger. He won't let me use a Qtip or gauze because he tries to eat it. |

| LOL mine spread around like little ants when they see the bottle. They hate it as well. I have to crawl under the bed, behind the couch, everywhere they can fit I'm trying to get them....Oh and the spray is even worse. Since Gabby hates the brush I get some gauze or sometimes just use my finger and apply it directly on her teeth. |

Brooklyn has white teeth but sometimes has horrid breath and just tonight my husband said Booger (yes he calls him that) your breath don't stink no more! I have all my babies on it. Just a capful in their water and I'm good to go! Its NOT an over nite process...it takes continual use, but I am seeing results! | I use a enzymatic toothpaste from the vet by C.E.T. in the Malt flavor and both my furkids LOVE it! Another option, if there is already plaque build up, Plaque-Off ProDen PlaqueOff™ - For Healthier Teeth and Gums REALLY Works. You just add it to the food.
