| Science Diet is not great. Those at Petsmart may believe it is the BEST of what they sell, however it's not good. Petco is starting to sell Wellness which is a good food, otherwise any food that can be bought at Petsmart or Petco (aside from Blue Buffalo which i think has really improved) you should be buying from a specialty store. |

| I use Neutro Ultra it's a holistic food. Mine love it. No problems whatsoever. I will never use anything else with them. You can get this at petsmart.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | At one time Science diet was considered the premier of dog foods, and it was better than most foods available. Most dog foods were very high fat, and marketed more so they appealed to humans than dogs. Huge amount of food coloring was used to get hamburger and cheeseburger looking foods. I remember liking Science Diet because it was the only dog food you could buy without food coloring. Today, there are many other foods that are considered better than Science Diet, and not too many people here will recommend it anymore.

| Science Diet vs. Blue Buffalo??? I have been feeding my Sadie (4 years young) Science Diet at the recommendation of my Vet, thinking that was the best thing to do. Well, last week she has started to scratch herself badly...I checked, no ticks or fleas...so I found this website while searching for a solution. I decided that maybe it was her diet (since I could find NO good things being said about Science Diet). I researched all day and finally to PetSmart I went (that is the closest place to go) and bought Blue Buffalo Small Breed Life Protection Formula Holistic food. Took it home yesterday and my little picky baby went crazy. She loves it. I usually have to add wet food to make her eat...not this food, all I have to do is rattle the sack and she gets excited. I do not know if it will help the itching as she has not been on it long enough, but she loves it. Does anyone know anything else about this food? |

| I personally haven't tried the Science Diet. However, the breeder that I purchased my Yorkie from and another notable breeder I've met...both LIVE by it!! They both HIGHLY recommend it. |

| I personally don't like SD. I've never fed it to my Yorkies, but it seemed to make my hound constipated. |

| When I first got Lucy, Science Diet was what they were feeding her & I did for a long time. Then I started comparing what was in different foods, this is the 1st 5 ingredients....not the best, especially the By-Product Meal (beeks, feet, parts, etc) Yukkie!!! CHICKEN GROUND WHOLE GRAIN CORN GROUND WHOLE GRAIN SORGHUM GROUND WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT CHICKEN BY-PRODUCT MEAL
