| Ringworm treatment Hello, I am a new member of this wonderful forum and desperately need help. Anybody has an experience using an oral med Itraconazole(Generic) or Sporanox (brandname) to treat a ringworm? My yorkie puppy only 4 months old and 2 lb 14 oz. I've been bathing her with medicated shampoo KetaChlor every other day for about 2 months now, doesn't help. I've already tried Chlotrimazole ointment, Tresaderm topical solution - all too irritating for her skin..Yesterday, on our 4-th visit, vet suggested to start oral med. How safe to use it for such a young tiny puppy?? Appreciate any reply |

| I don't know anything about the oral meds. My dh had a ringworm on his leg. The only way the topical medication worked was to swab the area with rubbing alcohol twice a day, then apply the cream, and it went away quickly. Before the alcohol swabbing, the cream did nothing.
