| Glycoflex (and other joint supp) ??s I bought Hunter and my mom's yorkie some glycoflex. They will absolutely not take it. Not crushed with food, not wrapped in cheese or meat. I can kinda understand why-it smells terrible. Is there another good joint supplement that has a better taste or is more palatable that your yorkies will take?? Thanks so much for any help/advice!!

| Well, the address for the site to order Syn-Flex produced lots of strange things. You can go on-line and put Syn-Flex in and search and you will find it. Sorry for all the strange stuff! |

| I give mine Glucosamine. It's liquid form, not sure how it tastes, but I add it in to their food and they gobble it right up with everything else. It works wonders for their coat growth too! I actually need to find another supplement for Trixie. She is allergic to shellfish--we found out the hard way a while back when she snapped up a piece of dropped shrimp--and I have not been able to find a supplement that does not contain it that I am happy with. I am very interested in any suggestions as well. Last edited by BamaFan121s; 07-25-2008 at 05:07 AM. |

| I swear by Cosequin. Cosequin and Glycoflex are thought to be the best out there. Many of the less expensive and "off" brands don't contain enough glucosamine to be beneficial. An average size Yorkie needs 300 mg per day. I gave Lady Glycoflex for years until they came out with all those new double strength formulations that were just too much for a 7.5 pound dog. She gobbled them right up, but she's a chow hound. Cosequin regular strength is a sprinkle on capsule and Lady doesn't seem to notice it in her food. |

| Thanks for the other suggestions-I am going to look into trying them. I only wish they had sample packs, so I could see if he likes them! If he is right around 4 lbs, what dose do ya'll suggest?? Thanks!
