| Reintroducing puppy food after illness I've been feeding my pups boiled chicken & rice for a week, after they had diarrhea. I reintroduced their Nutro food and their first poops are diarrhea, again! Is this just because of them eating puppy food again? If so, how long will the diarrhea last. Hopefully, not long. !! |

| Try still using the boiled chicken and rice and only adding a few pieces of kibble at a time gradually adding more kibble at each feeding over the period of the next week.................. |

| If you want to get them back into their regular food mix it 50/50 into the rice and chicken for a couple days then 75/25 then all the way...try never to abruptly change the food you will most always have a digestive problem

| I'm still feeding the chicken & rice, but slowly adding their normal kibble to it. The ratio was about 80% chicken/Rice and 20% kibble. Yet they still developed loose stools. Maybe even that small amount will cause loose stools until their body is accustomed to the food again. Thanks for the input! |

| I might try incorporating a food with ingredients that are more akin to the chicken and rice they had been getting doing the slow integration thing with that. Nutro has a lot of lamb in it and that is a lot richer than chicken so I can see why there may be irritation. I may try innova that is more poultry based. Just a thought. Really I would probably talk to your vet about it.
