| ok wow thanks for the responses...... well for those that care, i went and bought her canidae all life stages "chicken lamb and fish" and "lamb and rice". I am so surprised because i know these are "quality" foods. within a 5 mile radius of my job, there is about 10 pet stores that have wellness, canidae, evo, instinct, prairie, and some other "good stuff" please pray that she likes it cuz im wasting so much money buying her food that she doesnt eat. |

| I guess lots of people buy their dogs different foods?? She's not tired of it, she just knows that she's got you trained to buy her different stuff. My dogs eat hard lamb 'n rice every single day and they have their whole life.

| I feed mine Canidae, but I also make them home-made meatballs (lean turkey, oates, egg, shreaded paremsean, garlic powder and oregano). They clean their bowles at every mean. Good luck.

| New food for Dax too... My dog gets tired of his food too; it's has been better since I have a new dog, but now that we've had her for a while he just lets her eat if he's not just starving.... He eats really good about every other day and he's very thin cause he's so full of energy (he burns the calories... I wish I had that kind of metabolism lol). I got a new food this time that I have never heard... Ziwi Peak. Has anyone heard of it? He was throwing a fit over it before I opened the bag. I just mixed a small amount in with their regular food and he ate all his food and finished off what Darla didn't eat. Aparently it is a air dehydrated raw food, it looks kind of like small jerky treats and you feed only a small amount compared with regular food. I'm gonna try it, especially since it is grain, additive, and preservative free. The only additives are vitamin, and minerals. It's quite pricey however if you really feed that much less... Let me know if anyone has any experience with this food. |

YT 1000 Club Member | KiKi does this too!! I have several bags of different Kibble. She will eat it for awhile and then no way...I wish they would sell kibble in smaller bag sizes....she does eat the same wet though..no change there..the Merrick "puppy plate" is her favorite.... Don't worry too much...lots of these fur butts are very fussy

Senior Yorkie Talker | Sorry I didn't see your post till now, when I had my first puppy he would never eat, and I went crazy buying all these bags of food that he would eat for a couple of days to a week and then he wouldn't eat it anymore. When I got my second puppy I vowed never to switch food like that or in general because I think it gets confusing to them, and I didn't want him to eat something one day and not the next. My baby is only 2.5lbs and he went on a hunger strike because when he was sick (vet prescribed meds that almost killed him) I did any and everything to get him to eat, gave him potatoes, cream cheese, pea's, anything that wasn't kibble because before he got sick he already wasn't eating it all that well due to loosing about 6 of his baby teeth all at once. After he got better (100%) I put the kibble down gave him twenty minutes to eat. If he didn't I picked it up and then tried to give it later on, each time he refused, this lasted two days. Finally after day 2 he realized he wasn't going to get anything else, and gobbled up his kibble like it was the best thing in the world, and hasent had an eating problem since.

| diet The more you change their food, the more it is necessary to change their food. Stick with what you are feeding her...she will eat..never had a Yorkie in 35 yrs starve voluntarily. She will act miserable, give you "cow" eyes..but ignore her..put down the food, tell her she may eat or not eat, it is her choice..she will not understand your words, but dogs understand a tone of voice and they know when you make a big fuss and worry...the bigger the fuss, the more control they have, the more they stand their ground....good luck Last edited by YorkieRose; 07-21-2008 at 06:19 AM. |

| If you're asking me how old Myah is, right now I'm not worried about her she eats fine. She is 7 months right now and I would never keep food away from her. She eats the NV just fine. She eats the raw 3 times a day, and I leave the kibble down for her to eat when she wants. Since Yorkies are said to be finicky eaters, I wondering what to do if she should decide to not eat in the future. What is the safe time frame to leave a yorkie that is about 3 lbs...which is what we figure Myha will be full grown. |
