Poor little Stedman! Hope he is better today. All the suggestions, pumpkin, sweet potato, etc. sound good. I have a new idea that I am going to run past Toto's vet .... blueberries! I found out by accident that those will give you diahrrea, big time, if you eat too many of them!! Last summer while I was home for awhile, I discovered that my 4-yr. old granddaughter, Abbi, loves them. I knew that they were really good for her and because she has a problem not eating enough fiber, I let her eat them every time she asked! Opps!! Too many is not a "good thing"! Toto loves them too! Soooo ... if the vet says it's OK for Toto to have more than the 3-4 that I give her now, I'm going to add those to her daily treat ration! Anyone had any experience with these?

Steddy ... Toto sends hugs & snuggles and hopes you feel better soon!

Still nothing as of yet I am glad to hear that little Gracie is better...it can't be comfortable for them...poor things!

The thing about the blueberries is a good question to ask the vet! Good thinking girl! I will definitely keep that in mind I hope this canned pumpkin starts working...but so far, my little guy hasn't had any luck with it

Stedman says thank you so much for the hugs Toto...and he is sending them right back to you!

Well, we were going to go to the store last night to get some sweet potatoes and milk, however, I did find a can of canned pumpkin in my pantry (I'm sure I bought it "just in case" - for emergencies like this), so I decided to try that first. Last night he fell asleep and slept through the night, so I didn't want to bother him...but this morning when he ate his first meal of the day, I mixed in some of the canned pumpkin. Immediately after that I let him out to go to the bathroom as he went straight to the door, so I had high hopes that maybe it was going to work Unfortunately, he went out....and, nothing He still just can't seem to go My poor little guy! Of course, this morning was only the first time he had it since all this constipation stuff started, so maybe I just need to give it a little more time. I am going to continue to give it to him throughout the day and see if it helps. I will also be going to the store later to get some sweet potatoes and milk just in case the canned pumpkin doesn't work. Heck, I am going to try everything.

How long should it take for the canned pumpkin to "kick in" do you think? And how long exactly should I let this go on before I take him to the vet to see what is going on? I was thinking that if he doesn't "go" today - that maybe I should take him in to see the vet tomorrow....but then again, maybe I should give it a little more time for the sweet potatoes/canned pumpkin/milk to kick in/work

Oh man Brooke he really is constipated! Gracie was still going it was just not an easy task for her. If he doesn't go today, I would call the vet tomorrow and just ask. I would be afraid his little tummy would start to hurt. BTW, it took a good full day before I saw any difference with Gracie and I think I kept her on the pumpkin for around 3 or 4 days total.

Thank you so much Nikki. I am going to keep at it with the canned pumpkin and will also try the sweet potatoes and milk later on today. Gosh I really hope something works At least with Gracie she was still able to go...I wish Stedman could The poor little guy can't seem to get ANYTHING out. I just hate this.

If he doesn't go at all today, the vet will for sure be hearing from me tomorrow. I will first just call and see what they say before I bring him in. Thank you so much for all your help girl and I will keep everyone updated on what happens with the little man

I hope you find something that helps but one time Teddy was constipated and my mom gave him olive oil, just a little bit like that and it worked. Also i think carrots make them go

Well I gave him more milk (quite a bit this time) and more canned pumpkin - neither of them has worked so far I didn't think I had enough milk left but there was still a little in the jug (plenty for him) but I am going to pick up more at the store when we go in just a few minutes to stock up on blueberries and sweet potatoes. And I am also going to try the olive oil and carrots when we get back home. Gosh I hope something works...I can tell that he is just in AGONY

I hate this!

Unhappy Another update...

We got back from the store and as I was cutting the sweet potatoes up into chunks, hubby knocked on one of the kitchen windows (he was outside with Stedman *trying* to get him to go potty) - well he did something with his hands and I just knew that he was trying to tell me that Stedman "went"...so I stopped what I was doing and walked outside and he said that he, ummm....pushed on Stedman's little hiney, lol...and he did poop, BUT - only a little came out and they were very hard and round (I looked at them to see for myself ). Well, we were HOPING that he would go more, but once again he was having problems going and still is

SO, I chunked up the sweet potatoes, boiled them and now they are cooling. I forgot to do the carrots earlier, so they are boiling now. After the carrots are finished I am going to give Stedman some of the sweet potatoes, and carrots, and even some olive oil. Gosh I hope all this stuff doesn't upset his stomach Just in case, I will give everything an hour (or more) apart to be on the safe side.

Say a little prayer for him...I KNOW he is in pain, I can just tell

Aww poor little Steddy!
At least he was able to release a little of the pressure. Wishing him much, um, success today!

Poor Stedman. Sounds like your doing everything right. I would maybe mix a little water into the pumpkin and carrots to get more fluids into him. That may help loosen things up in there Keep us updated!
