| Considering changing foods My 8 yr old has been eating Eukanuba for years and we always thought it was a respectable food...i know otherwise now! Our new puppy is coming home next Friday and I am thinking about changing them both over to the Canidae All Life Stages. What are your thought about it? ANy othe3r suggestions? I know they have recently changed the formula...is it as bad as people are making it out to be or were they just subtle changes? I like the idea of not having to have a puppy food since I am sure Champ (8 yr old) will be eating some of Rowdy's food from time to time! |

| Welcome to YT! You are smart to check out better dog foods. Since you have 2 at different ages, i would suggest getting an all life stages that is formulated for puppies, adults and seniors. If you would like to try the Life's Abundance, just PM me and i'll send you out some samples for free! Whatever you decide to feed, just read the ingredients. There should be NO CORN, NO WHEAT OR SOY, AND NO BY-PRODUCTS OF ANY KIND. The LA has none of those ingredients and is formulated for all life stages which really makes it convenient. The dog food is shipped straight from the manufacturing plant to your door...saving you time and gas!! No chemical preservatives either so it is super fresh when it arrives at your door. Most commercial foods are full of preservatives since they must be able to sit in warehouses or stores shelves for up to 18 months. Good luck and congratulations on your new puppy!! |

| I personally do not like All Life Stages food. However, there are LOTS of people who feed it and do well with it and recommend ALS food, especially Canidae. It's a great food and definitely much better than Eukanuba. I'd like to recommend Wellness and Taste of the Wild as well. Both have wonderful grain-free formulas. Franklin and Maggie have really thrived on it. Maggie gets Wellness Core, which is a grain-free, high protein and Franklin gets Just for Puppy.

| Ok so I went to the store with all intent to buy Canidae...and I came home with Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance. I had been in there a couple weeks ago and the sales guy (who was suprisingly VERY knowledgeable) recommended NB. Well I guess when doing my rescearch on here I confused Canidae and NB because of the All Life Stages formulas. So when I went back I realized they weren't the same so I took both to the front and asked which on...well both ladies told me that the NB was a better food over all. Kinda of suprised me since there's a 4 dollars difference with NB being the cheaper one...I thought there's got to be some truth here cuz they aren't in it for the money. I hope I didn't make a bad decision, but at least I know Champ's eating something better than before! I brought it home and mixed it 75/25 with the old stuff and he ate the whole bowl...he normally free feeds so he was a little confused when he tried to go eat late last night and there wasn't anything ( i didn't want to over feed him) |

| I tried Canidae, and Scooter and Maya really liked it........maybe too much 'cause they both gained weight.......so I took them off of it.
