Question What is the BEST shampoo & conditioner for dry/itchy/flaky/allergy skin??

My yorkie Hobbs has skin allergies (food-related) and I was wondering what would be best to bathe him with?? Any suggestions??

I've used Neem Oil Shampoo for itching....It's used for soothing itchy skin and it has an added bonus to kill fleas.....

I suggest a good oatmeal based shampoo. ALthough Shelby & Seymour havn't had any skin issues.... KNOCK ON WOOD... we had a mini schnauzer that did, and the oatmeal shampoo worked wonderfully.

Oatmeal shampoo is very helpful for dogs who have itchy problems. It's very soothing...

Hey Rebecca Tatum has skin issues too (dry, flaky, itchy) - she has REALLY BAD allergies. I use Doc Ackerman's Herbal Colloidal Oatmeal Shampoo and I really do love it. It is 3.8% Colloidal Oatmeal which is great

The full ingredient list is: Colloidal Oatmeal at 3.8%, Purified Deoionized Soft Water, Green Tea Extract, Sodium Myreth Sulfate, Camphor Crystols, menthol Crystals, Aloe Vera, American Cranes Bill, Chickweed, Comfrey, Elder Flower Berries, Goldenseal, Horse Tail, Irish Moss, Marigold Flower, Marsh Mallow Root, Slippery Elm, Witch Hazel, Garlic, Woodwort, and Thyme.

I order it online from Only Natural Pet, here is the link: Doc Ackerman's Herbal Colloidal Oatmeal Shampoo

P.S. - Read the reviews on it - they speak for themselves!

I love oxy-med. Made by tropiclean. I use it in my grooming salon for dogs with skin issues.

Default Itchy Dog Too

Johnny is crazy with the itchies too...allergy meds cause side-effects that just aren't good.
Just started TropiClean shampoo and conditioner and Richard's Organic Skin Spray last week and he's still itching.
Any other suggestions?

Have you tried Buddy Wash & Rinse?

Ingredients: Coconut shampoo base, aloe vera gel, essence of lavender, essence of mint, chamomile extract, sage extract, nettles extract, rosemary extract, wheat protein extract (natural deodorizing agent), tea tree oil, vitamin E, vitamin C.

There is no "soap" to dry out skin but it definitely gets them clean!

We love Buddy Wash and it smells so good. I have little bottles on my site if you want to try it before buying a big bottle.

Muffin used to have the problem in the summer. I've used both oatmeal shampoos and the hydrocortisone shampoos on her and they did help. I haven't needed anything with Kacee.

I suggest oatmeal shampoo!
when we rescued maggie, she had dry, flaky skin and sores all over her body.
The shampoo along with a better diet made her skin soft again!
Hope his skin gets better!
