| Ellie has LP I had the vet check Ellie tonight. Her right leg is great but her left is loose. The vet says maybe a 1.5 and thankfully nothing to worry about right now (and probably never). Ellie just needs to stay on the skinny side. I had a feeling that something was wrong because her knees crack quite a bit when she jumps.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Aww it should be ok. The ortho surgeon had told me that most yorkies are at least a 1.5 in his experience. Zoey a 1 and as long as I don't let her turn into the good year blimp she should be ok. I also watch her jumping place. Not only becuase of LP but so she doesn't break her leg.

If most Yorkies are at a 1.5, I guess Ellie is doing good then.

Guess you better get some steps and get her used to using them. I am going to get some. Zoey jumps up and that doesn't worry me but the down gives me fits.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wylie has some LP too, but not surgical yet - and I hope never. There is some thought that if you give Flexicose, it will help mend and/or prevent any further degeneration. I give it and I know some others on YT give it. I got mine on eBay. It does make Wylie's tears more brown (whereas before they weren't, really). Oh, Ellie!

| Oh no.... I feed SynoviG3 low allergy formula - 1/4 teaspoon daily. I gave the info to our nutritionist and he looked at it and said it looked good, to continue. I used to hearing clicking all the time when we picked up Roxy and TJ - but since giving them to SynoviG3 - no more clicking |

| I know Cosequin is supposed to be really good for this. I'm not sure I want to spend the money UNLESS it will really help and not hurt her liver. About the tears turning brown on Flexicose though, I don't want Ellie's eyes to start stinking again and that might do it. If it gets any worse she will definately go on something but I kind of feel like she should now to stop the progression. The knee cap definately came out though. I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a two.

| Is this due to her jumping? Quote:
Apparently we had a visitor downstairs and she wanted to see who that voice she heard belonged too. My bed is really high and despite keeping a chair there for her to jump up and down from she will just jump onto the floor. I worry aobut her having problems later on. If she keeps up the jumping maybe it will be sooner then later. | |

| Poor Ellie May!! Do you have stairs that Ellie could use instead of jumping up and down?
