| Iverhart Max Heartworm tabs Has anyone used this heart worm preventative on their toy yorkie? It is not my usual. This one also has a tape worm preventative which is good but, I will not give Deucy ANYTHING without first checking to see if others have and if their babies had ANY side effects whatsoever. Can anybody speak from experience on this for me? Thank you!!! Deucy weighs 5 lbs and this is for 6-12 lb dogs.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I give both my guys heartworm pills - Ivermectin is the ingredient, can't recall which brand. My Marcel weighs 3.4 and Wylie weighs 7.5.

| Thank you for the reply! I needed to know that someone else has given their baby this and no side-effects. Deucy is SO sensitive to some things and I wasn't going to take a chance. Thanks again!!! I appreciate it!!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh sure, no problem ! I think almost all of here give our babies heartworm every month - either the Ivermectin alone - or the one that also treats whipworm etc. - so you're doing the right thing.

| Iverheart is the generic form of Heartguard. I have used it with my 3 with no problems.

| I just checked and the one I used was Iverheart Plus so I'm not sure if that is different than the Max. The active ingredients in both Heartguard Plus and Iverheart Plus are Ivermectin, Pyrantel pamoate.
