YT Addict | Old dog health ok so we have an slmost 14 year old chihuahua hes been on his last legs for a year now, ive prepared myself because i know the time is comming. hes had four or five sezures, he wanders off while out to potty we think he has alzhimers or somthing similar. he forgets where he lives and just wanders off. last time he got out and got hit by a car and was lucky to get just a scratch. The latest problem is he has terrible teeth! they were cleaned once and started a few months later to get build up again. we have let it go and tried to hadnle it with just bones and things to help with scraping the teeth. Now they are bad several need pulled, and well we just dont want to put him through the surgery at his age. and well we dont want to invest that kind of money when we know that all they can do is pull them. and at his age they cant promise hell come out of the surgery i guess what im asking is what can i do for him, hes so old i dont want to mess with him too much. but im sure the teeth hurt can i give hiim anything?

| I don't know if you could give him anything, I know that my vet said I could give mine baby aspirin when they had some pain, so I would ask the vet about that. I would also make sure he has soft food to eat instead of kibble. Or hydrate the kibble to make it soft. Good luck with your little old man, it is a tough time, I've been through it, it's hard to know when to let them go. Hugs and strength...
