| Why wont my puppy eat the high quality brands? My yorkie is on Eukanuba small breed puppy (from the breeder). She eats it ok. I also mix in a little Natural Balance wet food. I got some free samples of puppy food like canidae, solid gold, nutro from a pet store. My puppy wont eat it. I mix it in with the other food and she leaves those pieces. Ive tried softening the quality kibble and putting a little nutrical or soft food on it. She still just eats the Euk tiny kibble. (Forgive me, I just learned the value of quality dog food.) My daschund was eating ol' roy. I know, i know. Anyway, if the daschund is eating it and the puppy is around she goes nuts for it and tries to steal pieces! (fyi, I am in the process of switching the daschund to solid gold adult.) What should I do? The pup is 9 weeks old.

| Eukanuba has more fat in it and she can smell that and that's why it is more appealing. Will she eat the quality wet food? |

| then there is nothing wrong with wet food. you just have to make sure you are brushing her teeth daily. Wet food is actually better than dry because it has gone through one less process (removing the moisture). You can always leave a bit of the quality kibble out and if she is hungry she'll eat it. But i think she is too young and too small to only leave out the quality food and not give her any wet food... if she were older i'd suggest that and say she'll eat when she's hungry but its best to just give her the wet. |

| Yes, well...probably the same reason I go for Taco Bell rather than a salad. lol! (Seriously, Marci has some great suggestions.)

| Maybe it is just because that is what she is accustomed to eating. Give her time and switch her gradually (like you are) and she will eventually come around. |
