visible blood vessels in the sclera I have a 11 week old puppy who had conjunctivitis when I had gotten him from the breeder at 9 weeks. She had thought the eye drainage was from the nasal vaccine she had given him. ( A side effect of this was eye discharge) My vet gave me gentamicin 2 times a day for 10 days. The conjunctivitis was cleared up. Now I have a noticed the sclera with the prominent blood vessels. He has what appears to be normal eye irritation from his hair around the eyes. I took him the vet friday and he is not concerned.I also noticed where his eye brows are there appeared to be 2-3 zits with little white heads. These were present above both eyes. I am not convinced yet. I am being overly cautious but if something was to develop it will. ( That is how my luck goes.) MURPHYS LAW Does anyone have any idea should I be worried or look for anything?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | A little redness is okay - you could sort of compare it to your own eye in terms of what might look normal (same with the conjunctiva too). Dogs can get pimples - the brows seem kind of an odd area, but it's possible; could also be ingrown hairs, I suppose. If they don't dry out in a week or so, you may want to have them looked at.

Thank you, I took him to the vet when I noticed them last on June 5th. The vet wasn't concerned and I can't remember what he called the reddness. Its just so far if something wasn't anything to worry about at the time the vet saw it, within a day or two it develops into a concern. I think I'm plighted with Murphy's Law.

Help he has conjunctivitis again and I can't figure out why? The little puppy awoke to his eyes being almost mattered shut. It was greenish-black in color. I washed it off with warm cotton balls and I can't get him into the vet until tomorrow. They weren't in their office today. I'm going to ask for them to culture this so we can take of this infection and hopefully prevent it from coming back.

I found out the pup may have a second row of eye lids on the lower lid, the vet thought he saw them but he put him on gentamycin again and said if it comes back then we will have to go to a specialist and get this checked out.
