| Nature's Variety rotation Is there anyone here that uses the NV rotation (Raw, kibble and can)? I know their website recommends it. My girlfriend switched her two pugs over to raw and is happy w/it but she said it is a bit to costly for her and was wondering about the rotation since kibble and can would go a bit further and cost a bit less. So just wondering (so I can forward the info back) if anyone else does this?

| Its fine, I would just stick to NV's grain free Instinct formula for canned and dry. Make sure kibble & canned are given at least 6-8 hours apart from the raw. I would do raw for break fast and kibble/canned for dinner.

| Hey...NV sent me a $15.00 coupon to try either their kibble or their raw. Every little bit helps. I am feeding raw in the morning. Kibble and canned California Natural at night right now. Just started a new baby on the NV raw today. He loves it. The breeder had him on Pro Plan Plus, had to change that quick!

| We rotate, feeding mostly dry and treating with canned and raw, using mostly the Instinct and everyonceinawhile the prairie cans. And as was previously stated, at least 8 to 12 hrs between feeding raw and kibble. We are well pleased with the Instinct dry. Our dogs are lean and muscular and have harder, smaller poos.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feed just raw and rotate through flavors. If cost is an issue though, that is certainly understandable - and kibble would stretch the dollar, that's for sure. You can also feed kibble/canned (grain free) with the raw if you/they like. There is absolutely no physiological reason whatsoever to NOT feed them together. The stomach does not recognize things as raw or non-raw. Something enters the stomach and is recognized as a carb, fat, protein, or toxin - the corresponding enzyme is released (there is NO raw vs. non-raw enzyme ). The chyme churns. When any portion of the contents are ready to move on, they're pushed into the small intestine for for further processing. The intestine, which is also a dynamic organ - moves things along as they are further broken down. Contrary to what other message boards out there say, stomach contents and raw/non-raw contents do NOT stay in one large clump together, proceeding through the digestion process. That is simply not true. So if you read that "raw/non-raw can't be fed together bc it will ferment" - that is pure hogwash. The body does not work that way. Do we eat sushi rolls, which is raw and non-raw together? Yes. Same concept. This is a really important myth to dispel bc it gets at the very basics of understanding digestion. I don't know where this myth started, in terms of raw w/ non-raw - but I see it everywhere and it's so frustrating. I'm going to eat a brownie now. And now that I think of it, I underbaked it a bit - so it's raw and non-raw, LOL!

| Hey Ann! Thanks for the clarification on that. I'm reading all the time don't do kibble and raw because of the digestive rate! You really explained that very well. You're the greatest!
