| I was having the same problem w/Blaze. He would not at all unless it had cottage cheese or yorgurt on it. I ended up switching him to Raw to see if he would do better on that and he hasn't missed a meal since!

| I'd like to see the answer to this also. I've been giving mine scrambled egg with their chicken soup every morning (1 egg divided among the 5 of them). At night they get cottage cheese or shredded cheese with the chicken soup. Without something on top, they won't touch it. I know, I've created spoiled little brats!

| exactly im a little concerned cuz people keep sayin that im goin to spoil her but its only a little bit. she eats 3 times a day at 8am n sometime between 4 n 6 n then again at like 10.30 im so happy taht shes eating. n eating on her own i dont even have to sit her on my lap. this is a relief for me cuz i have more time to get ready in the am n not b late to work. i really dont mean to step on anyone's toes cuz i appreciate any kind of advice but is it really a big deal? she will only get like 1.5 teasponns of cheese a day cuz i dont put much. |

| oh boy,,, listen ok... who cares what people think,,,so you spoil her big deal.. u do what you want to do and im sure its the right thing... till this day, if lexi doesnt eat, i spoon feed her, and so will my mom.. its just the way it is. some people would just put the food down and if the pup dont eat, they throw it away.., not me...its up to you.. till this day i still put different foods sprinkled on lexi's food... im might get slammed for this from the others, but who cares, i dont.

| If you do want to get her off of it, try putting less and less. Don't stop all together at one time. That would just be mean! |

| They truly are easily spoiled...mine certainly are. They have been eating royal canine lately and loving it. My older girl has always been one that would eat a certain food for awhile and then all of a sudden, I have to change. I have bought just about every top of the line food there is available close to me and still I have to change after a few months. She has been taking antibiotics since Saturday for a possible bladder/kidney infection twice a day. I have been wrapping it in a small piece of bologna or cheese to hide it to get it down her without her spitting it out. She has started picking at her food the last few days in order to get the good stuff. Hee-hee. Cottage cheese isn't bad for them to begin with, mine eat it sometimes for a special treet. So I don't see any harm in it. Probably every fur baby on this list is spoiled in one way or another. That is what they are for in my opinion.

If she is eating, I would not change anything. A three pound Yorkie is a lot different than a fifty pound lab. And for the people that are telling you to stop spoiling her, would they like to pay the vet bill if she goes hypoglycemic? Yorkie puppies need to eat three or more times a day, period. If that means spoiling them, oh well. Now yes you can pull the food after a few minutes and give it to her later if she isn't eating. Usually people say that dogs will not starve themselves and will eat within four days. Then someone else said their dog throws up bile after not eating with this method. This is not the method of choice for small Yorkies. And as far as spoiling her, what's wrong with that? Ellie will eat kibble but she gets human food every meal of every day with no dog food. If I tried to give her kibble again and she wouldn't eat it I totally wouldn't blame her. I have no problem with that. She is a living thing and as long as she will eat healthy meals, she will get what she likes. I wouldn't want to constantly force her to eat something that she doesn't want to. Eating should be enjoyable to her.

| thanks for ur responses guys. made me realize im not mean lol. well i decided to go ahead n give her the cheese anyway. believe me there is no need to take the food away within 15 min cuz most of it is gone by then. if she doesn't finish it all i still leave it out cuz i noticed that she doesn't like to eat all in one shot (i guess shes tryin to maintain her figure ) anyway i love that she eats on her own n words can't explain how happy i am. its been almost 3 months that i have her n for the first time, this has been the week where she eats all aloneeeeeeee. woooohooooo |

| You go girl. Don't worry about it..believe it or not I hear so much of the same crap..your spoiling your dog, if they don't eat take it away, dogs eat when they are hungry and all these more often than not are being preached by vets too! I always tell people no my yorkie do not eat even when he is hungry when the food is not right period. I know him enough to know his personality. I homecook now and I will never want to go back to the days when he has to eat when he is hungry and not enjoying what he is eating. It is more stressful for me to keep getting him to eat than to prepare some nice food.

| What's the harm in spoiling? It's good for them and us! I home cook for mine and have never had any that wouldn't eat. Real food is healthier and better for them anyway, so spoil away! |
