| Stinky Dog! I know that some people don't have this problem and some think that it maybe the food or shampoo. However, I was wondering if there was something that I can give my dog, maybe to take by mouth like a pill or something, to make him smell less. He smells like a dog all the time. I can give him a bath and he smells great. take him outside and no matter how long we stay outside, 1 min or 30 mins. He comes back in smelly! It never fails. I thought it was just outside but, I gave him a bath in the morning and never took him outside by the end of the night he smelled like dog just alittle but as the days went on, it was full blast. What can I feed him? The doggy perfume only last for awhile. I have a really stinky dog and I don't know why. Must be his sweat glands or something. If I feed him fruits and veggies, i wonder would that help...

| Wow, I give mine a bath and it last for about 3 days, then she looks a little oily, but usually smells ok. I went to Petco this weekend and got her a Shampoo called Spa (rice) and it smells so good. I got the spray to go with it and she smells so good for days... I love it.... It's kinda pricy, but it's worth it. There is different fragrances to choose from and it was a hard choice. I will eventually get all of it... If I were you, I'd ask your vet about it. Maybe there's a doggy vitamin your baby can take...Is this your first baby? Hope it get s better... |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I have read something about certain diets causing a bad smell, but I wonder if there's another problem such as an impacted anal gland. This can be a serious condition, so I think a trip to the vet is in order. Other things such as ear infections can cause a foul smell too, as well as dental problems from two sets of teeth. Sprays are just a temporary fix, that are nice between shampoos, but a serious odor problem should be looked into.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | First, what kind of smell do mean, exactly? Like, "poo" smell or ? Otherwise, I'd suspect a yeast infection and have the vet check his ENTIRE body for signs of that. What are you feeding him?

| he has a wet dog smell alot. It just smells like a dog and trust me, I know he is a dog but dang, he really smells like one. I read about and see people who let their dogs sleep with them or they carry their dogs around in their purses. i think that is cute and I would love to do that but the way he smells makes that impossible. Don't get me wrong, it's not a poo or hog smell. It's more of just a wet dirty dog smell. i cover it up with the perfume like sprays but they don't last long. i love him though but he is a stinky doggie!!
