| Picky little one!!! lol Ok maybe you can use the same food everyday. But add a little hot water and change the flavor using chicken broth, beef broth, soya sauce. It should work. My dogs love when I put some in there food. Good luck. |

| Hmm, when changing to a new food its always best to do it gradually. If I was feeding 1/4 cup, one teaspoon would be the new stuff, same thing in the evening, if all goes well bring it up a little the next day, increase a little bit daily keeping an eye on appetite, poops, etc. Lots of luck, take it nice and slow.

| Yep, take about a week to wean completely onto a new food. Also, I wouldn't leave food for her while you are gone. Feed her and what she doesn't eat in 15 minutes take away until the next scheduled meal time. |

| Charlie is so sensetive to smells that if I wash my hands in fragrant soap, he won't take his medication from my hand. Also, their bowl should stay the same - I try to slip a saucer in & he pushes it away with his nose.

Good day everyone, Jes I am new on this forum, so only read your post now, but ya seems like they really are difficult to please hey lol! I was wondering if anyone can help me, I am from South Africa (meaning havent got that big a choice of speciality food for Yorkies) Can any one recogment another dry food which I can feed Cheeky other than Royal Canin, cause Cheeky just about have to drop dead of hunger before she would take 1 bite! Since she was small she didnt really like her special food and it seems like the oily outside of this food just put her off. Reason why I say this is, my larger dogs get different "also special food" for large breed and Cheeky just like to chow that. I dont want her to eat it because it isnt formulated for her skin, hair and overall health. Its large chunks and she love to crunch them, almost like a kid stealing sweats. I dont know if she simply wants that because she sees the other 2 dogs get it to eat "being like a naughty kid" or because it hasnt got oil in it? I give Cheeky dry pellets in the morning to help keeping her teeth clean to, but she would simply not put her mouth to it and eventually in the evening I put something meaty in it (like chicken livers or so) then she would eat it! But please dont make a mistake, if it is mince or something with less flavour than other meat, she would smell the dog food between it and again wont eat Please let me in on your secrets Have a great day!!! | |
