| Wards or fungus Hi everyone, this week-end I was grooming Logan and I noticed some king of fungus/wards on his lips (yearch) I was wondering if anyone has seen this on their yorkies... I have an appointment at the vet next week. It doesn't seem to bug him it might be a bit ichy because he scraches a bit on his mouth and lick his lips after, it is weird, it gray, he has about 5 of them. I know he chew raw hides all night long... I really don't know... I cannot wait to go to the vet! I just hope it is not painful or contagious (I have 2 other dogs). I will try to post a picture tonight. Am I the only one who seen these?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmm...hard to say without a pic, but it could be pimples too. They can get them around their mouth/chin. Do they seem to be in stages where some are dried up and others have a whitehead or? Try not to worry, it may be nothing - and it's great you have an appointment set up.

Poor little thing.... thank God he has long hair

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wylie actually had one like that - right on his lower lip, totally forgot about it! It actually kind of freaked me out too. Vet said it was either just a little harmless wart or a little cyst - to watch it for a few weeks and see it got bigger or smaller. Sure enough, it went away on its own.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | That's what Wylie's looked like! Grey, bulbous - but it was in front - on the lower lip. It did go down after about 3 weeks. I don't recall the vet gave us anything for it, just told us to watch it. He said it just happens sometimes and that if it gets larger or doesn't shrink - then they have to remove it surgically - but oftentimes, it just goes down on its own over time.

| Thank you I feel a bit better - anyway Logan will have to go to the vet because I want him to get the kennel coughed vaccine... he loves the dog park and with that many dogs around I don't want to take any chances!

| Well my husband Randy went to the vet. yesterday afternoon and Logan has a virus (apparently common in young dog) and it will go away I don't know the name of this virus because when he told me it was "virus.... blablabla" not contagious for my other dogs!
