| Food question I tried a search through the forums and couldn't find what I was looking for, though I saw the sticky of premium pet foods. I have been feeding Duke Eukanuba since I got him, and switched to the Yorkshire brand of it when that came out. But on her I notice a lot of people mention Canidae (sp?) I was just wondering if there is something wrong with Eukanuba, a lot of people in my other Yorkie groups seem to use it too...

| eukanuba Eukanuba and Iams were both in those recalls too. Their products are still made at Menu Foods which was the source of most of the poisoned dog and cat foods last year. P&G Pet Care Announces Voluntary Participation in Menu Foods' Nationwide U.S. and Canadian Recall of Specific Canned and Small Foil Pouch 'Wet' Cat and Dog Foods Read the ingredients on the dog foods that you are considering. Make sure there is no corn, wheat or soy, and no by-products. The corn/wheat/soy can cause sever allergies and also have no nutritional value. The byproducts are just disgusting parts of the animals that aren't fit for consumption. They can also include rendered dogs and cats collected from vets that have been euthanized or diseased. It can also be the left over carcassas from processing plants! YUCK!! Here is an article about the cruelty IAMS and animal testing |

| One of my cats was a victim of the poisoned dog food My mom was feeding her dog the nutro something the canned meat stuff and my cat would lick at it...We lost my moms rott (not sure if it was the food, cuz she was sick before that) but my cat went into renal failure, he was on an IV in the vet for almost a week but it was too late... How can you tell if the food has animal parts in it?!? Thats really disgusting.

| Oh, that is awful about your kitty!! My mom's poodle also died from the food recalls...that is when i started doing tons and tons of research and found the LA food. It is manufactured and formulated by a holistic vet, Dr. Jane Bicks. She is wonderful and so helpful. I actually am on a conference call with her every week and can ask all the questions in the world. She is very open to any and all questions and is such an advocate for our companion animals. How many companies can you actually talk to the owner and founder??? I love this company and the food/treats/products have all be fabulous!! We tried all the other popular foods but my girls wouldn't eat any of them. This LA was the only one they would eat. We were customers for a long time before i decided to start helping others find a good food too. Any food/treat that has BY-PRODUCTS in there will have the dead/diseased animals in there. Just read every label. We now don't buy anything that comes from China and seems everything in Petco/Petsmart comes from there so we quit going except to take the girl to the doggie zoo to see all the animals/fish/birds in the cages. They love looking and getting close to those little critters. I just put all 4 in a basket and wheel them around to look at all the little rats/mice/gerbils...they LOVE looking at those the best! LOL!! Anyway...just read the labels on everything you buy for your babies to eat. The LA is only made here in America from trusted American sources...nothing in there from China..never has and never will be. The manufacturing plants are in Florida, IL and CA. There is a video that i highly recommend that you watch. It is on the website at: Welcome to TrilogyOnline Pets That will give you a lot of information about commercial pet foods and what is in them. There is also a comparison of the different popular brands of pet food with the LA food to give you a side by side comparison. |
