| Tomatoes and Tomato Plants Please give me your opinions: Are tomato plants and tomatoes bad (toxic) for our furbabies? Its that time of year again. We planted tomato plants in our backyard yesterday. Moose loves tomatoes. Last year he would go up to the plants and smell the tomatoes. He would nudge them and if they fell off the plant he knew they were ripe and he would eat them. Since last year I have read that tomatoes and especially the plant is bad them them! Please advise....

| I think I read that the vines and leaves of tomato plants could be harmful to dogs, but not the actual tomatoes. I cannot remember where I found that information - sorry. Maybe someone else on YT can give us "tomato lovers" a link. We plant tomatoes, also, in our back yard, and it kind of worries me.

| Thanks for the information, Moosie's Mom. I will be extra careful with my furbaby. It sounds like I need to put a fence around our tomato plants.

| I was hoping to get more response on this from all the YT experts! I am confused if they should eat tomatoes or not!
