| Ringworms and a Yorkie I've been told by the breeder that I'm purchasing my yorkie male from that he's had ringworm but she thinks it's under control and his coat is growing back out. Now I'm concerned, I don't want to bring or finish paying for a yorkie that has had ringworm. This stuff is contagious. I have a cat, I don't want her exposed to it, nor myself. Would you guys buy a yorkie that you knew had "had" ringworm??? Can you really get rid of it? |

| ringworm NO, I would look elsewhere...I don't like the fact the breeder has ringworm in the kennel anyway...what you do is take a break..treat all the dogs and wait a safe period of time, then start again...you do not continue to breed and sell with parasites, KC, cocccidia or whatever going on... |

| Even though I've lost some money, just thinking about bringing that puppy to my home and the possibility of him passing it to my cat and I, discourages me greatly. I'm glad she was honest with me, but I want a healthy happy yorkie, not one with problems from the beginning. |

| When I got my little Brooke, she was 5 months old and 2 weeks after I got her she came down with ringworm. She gave it to me and my 2 chis but not my other 2 yorkies or my husband!! It was about 3 months worth of medicine and smelly sulfur dips and baths!! Not fun but luckily it has never reared it's ugly head again!! Brooke probably got it at the vet visit or the dog park and since she had moved to live with me she might have been stressed and her immunity was low. I think you are right for not purchasing since you know this in advance and it is not a nice process to go through if you don't have to!!

Before I found yt.. I bought and sure learned the hard way also.. Kim Brock that sold him to me and he had had coccidia and came to me with the poops so badly it took us 5 months to get him on his feet.. she sent me stuff for him then I found a breeder in the states who told me she was surprised he was not dead.. medicines in the states and canada can be quite different.. Then I bought maravilhosa and that was a nightmare also..I will not name her.. but if some one posted about her.. I would soon tell them.. It is very hard to find and trust a breeder anymore from just looking on the internet... one needs to know to come on yt.. I wish I had known,..anne | |
