| Best Yorkie Adult Food? Hi everyone! My Yorkie is 10 months old so I'm looking into what adult food he is going to be eating. He currently has Science Diet Puppy Small Bites. He hasn't had any problems with and and everything seems good. But I haven't heard the best things about Science Diet. What adult food would you recommend for a Yorkie? Thanks for your advice in advance!! |

| I just started both my girls on Nature's Variety Raw and Canidae kibble. I feed the NV in the mornings and the kibble in the evenings. (I actually leave a little kibble out all the time for them)

| I feed my yorkie Innova Dog Food (small bites). He loves it and it doesn't have any by-products in it like the Science Diet does.

| My dog (still a puppy) LOVES Innova EVO. I might try Innova Small Bites Adult if the vet says I need to lower the protein. He did not like Innova Puppy or I would have had him on that.

| We feed nature's variety as well. we rotate between the instinct dry and wet food, prairie dry and wet food, and the frozen medallions. It is good for your pup to rotate their protein source, and this brand of food has many options. Plus once your pups start getting tired of one thing (mine are tired of the duck now), you can switch to another (their favorite is chicken for the time being). The food is high in protein, so I suggest you make sure your dog is healthy and has a good liver before making the switch. I have heard that dogs with liver issues cannot digest that much protein. but my healthy dogs are lean and muscular, and they poo less too. We made the switch about 9 months ago and are pleased. Oh, and I also love that the dry food comes in 4 or 5 lb bags, so it doesn't go bad before it is eaten. Ok, I will stop. I guess I really like the food, huh?

| I just started raw. My babies really like it and my Jack is eating so much more now. He was taking 3 feedings to eat 1 quarter cup of kibble. Now he is eating 1.5 chicken legs a day. This is only the first week but so far so good. Betty Last edited by tortoisekeeper; 05-09-2008 at 10:39 AM. |

| we have used Timberwolf, but are now transitioning to Natural Balance small bites. Any good premium brand would be what I would switch to. There is a sticky listing all the premium brands at the top of the main health and diet page. good luck!!

| Are the pieces actually really small? I got Innova puppy but the kibble was so big Bailey wouldn't eat it and I thought she would choke on it!
