| bathing? how often? i just got my 3 month old yorkie a few days ago, and i was wondering how often i should bath him. I heard once a week from some, but others say only every other week. If someone knows anything about this, i would love to hear it. |

| I take my girls a bath every week. They get pretty stinky by the last day and if my bf says "phew" when they come into the room then it's time. (Actually they're not THAT bad, they just get the doggy smell). I think it really depends on their coat (some of them get oily fast) and their skin. If they have dry itchy skin it's better to wait longer between baths and use an oatmeal shampoo. I hope this helps.

| I bath my little one once a week. It's funny because I have two little girls (human) with lots of hair who hate to get it washed and on Sundays they know it's "hair night" for Paisley too!

| My girlies go to the groomer every three weeks for the full treatment. I bathe them once in between. They get mighty smelly if they play outside a lot, and usually they get wet from the pool. They don't really go swimming too much, but my hubby splashes a lot

| Once a week. They need it about every 5 days but I wait until the weekend. After a while it's not worth washing face/head/butt/feet and you might as well just give them a bath!

| Coco gets a bath once a week, sometimes 5-6 days. But she gets a paws wash after morning walks because of the dew and wet sidewalks. And after afternoon walks it's only a wipe of the feet since it's not as dirty. Sometimes I wish I don't have beige carpeting...... |

| I've always bathed my Westie once a month and planned on doing the same for my new Yorkie, but found that she needs one once a week. She's also on the couch and everywhere else in the house, so it makes that much of a difference. All I have to do for my Westie is brush him every few days...Trixie (Yorkie) needs a brush just about daily. I love it when she's clean ... she gets more hugs. I think Westies are more proned to dry skin.

| Pookie plays outside a lot. If he gets dirty, I bathe him. Sometimes it can be a couple times a week. I just have to make sure his skin doesn't get dry.

| What do you use to make sure your baby doesn't have dry skin? I'd like to wash Coco more, but always afraid of making her skin dry. |
