| Question about my puppy's weight My puppy is 2 pounds and almost 9 weeks old....the mom is 7lbs and the dad is 4lbs. How big do you think he will get? Is there a way of telling? I know some breeders give a weight gaurentee. If anyone knows please let me know, I just want to know what to expect. I attached a picture of my baby Bandit and Prue his mom and Bear his dad. |

Donating YT Addict | Jeesh it's hard to say. My Ozzy was 2.9oz at 9 1/2 weeks. He is now right about 6 months and 3lbs 12oz. His Dad was 4.5 and Mom 6.75. He is taking more after his Dad and will probably be about 5 lbs maybe 5.5. I know a few others in his litter are much bigger than him though so you'll just have to wait and see.... Your pup should be within standard (7 lbs) but there is no guatantee and those bigger teapots (over 7) sure are cute...more of them to love

| Some people say triple the weight at 8 weeks or double the weight at 12 weeks to give a general estimate!!

| Yorkiepassion.com has a weight chart...pretty close to weight. At 8weeks-times the weight by 3 At 12weeks-times the weight by 2 This is what I have always been told...I am sure someone else on here has something different to go by... |

| My "little" guy was 2.1 lbs at 7 wks. He ended up a whopping 10 lb teapot at 1 and now at almost 3 he is pushing 16lbs!!! He ended up being the biggest out of his litter, his brother and sister weighed about 6lbs. |

I have never seen a breeder guarantee adult weights. I see them all the time predicting an adult weight and those predictions are usually small. But if you look at the actual sales contract or guarantee there usually is nothing about adult size or they specifically say it is not guaranteed. The OP's puppy being 2 pounds at 8 weeks, may be somewhere around the 6 pound mark, how's that for being vague? I don't really like to even make a guesstimate until they are at least 12 weeks old. A lot can change in even a month.
