| Estimated adult weight Is 10 lbs est. adult weight alot for a male yorkie? I am looking at getting this cute guy but 10 lbs seems much. My female is 5.9 lbs and I don't know how that'll work out with the two. (I'm not planning on breeding the two or anything...just a big size difference) What do ya'll think??

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Well...it's over standard but not HUGE. Ramsey weighs 11 pounds...she is solid muscle, Reese is next at 8, and Reggie presently weighs 4. The three have no problems playing with each other...although Reggie tends to jump ON them.

| It totally depends on the dog, my grandmothers male yorkie is over 15 pounds (she overfeeds him!) and my sister's male yorkie is only 4 pounds.

| I have two boys who are way different in size, and they get along and play together great. Jake is 4 1/2 lbs. and Jackson is 6 1/2 lbs. Jackson is all muscle and looks much bigger. Jake is very tiny and is all hair. The standard is 4-7 lbs. so 10 lbs. would be above the standard. It really depends on the dogs.

| i had to let a really nice long legged 6lb gal go last year because she was hurting my others who are between three and five pounds but are built very small, trying only to play with them. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 05-06-2008 at 01:40 PM. |

| I wouldn't know about the size difference but Franklin is 10.4lbs and he's not that big at all (not to me, anyway). I don't think he'd have a problem playing with a smaller dog.

| If the estimated weight is 10 pounds, the pup could be bigger (or smaller). If the pup is cobby-bodied, the estimated weight could be close but if he is a bit long in the body he could go bigger. With that being said, the size shouldn't matter if the bigger one isn't aggressive but some puppies can be rowdy. We have Yorkies ranging from 3 to 13 pounds and the little 3 pounder rules the roost!! |

| Hi, I think its really hard to say and depends on each baby. My pekingese Snoot is about 13 lbs. and he's so gentle with all of my girls. He's always been this way since day number one. He plays with each of them differently and its like he knows what each one can handle. My one little girl is only 2 lbs. and he just rolls over when she tries to play with him. Its the cutest thing ever. My one other girl is about 3 1/2 lbs. and I worry 10x more when she plays with the others. She's rough and has no idea how hard she plays. I don't think you will truly know until both babies are together. Good Luck!!

| Benji is 8.5lbs and my maltese Bella is 4.5lbs. They play great together. I wouldn't worry about the weight difference. The breeder I got Benji from said he would be about 5-6lbs. He isn't overweight either. He is pure muscle.
